Fred Harvey was an entrepreneur who had a chain of restaurants, hotels, and gift shops alongside the railroads and Route 66 in the early 1900’s. He designed jewelry specifically for the tourist trade and hired Navajo and Pueblo silversmiths to implement his designs, the Thunderbird being one of his most popular pieces of art. Ray’s version of the Fred Harvey Collection pays tribute to this visionary man and a by gone era in Southwestern Indian Jewelry.
